Admission to the Beacon Program is voluntary. Clients are referred to the program by community mental health services. The attending psychiatrist must endorse all referrals. Clients and their families are encouraged to visit and tour the unit at any time during the referral process. Each client is interviewed by Beacon staff to determine his or her suitability for the program.
