CLOTHING OF THE DECEASED
Personal property left at the hospital or funeral home should be reclaimed as soon as possible. One of the most difficult tasks at the residence is going through the belongings and deciding to keep or remove some of them. There is no specific time frame in which to complete this task. Some find it should be done as soon as possible, while others wait for extended periods before emotionally and physically tackling it. Useable clothing and furnishings may be donated to a worthy charity, in the deceased's memory. Many people in these circumstances find comfort in helping those in need. Most charities will come directly to your home to pick up the donations. For further assistance, contact the local chapter of the Salvation Army.
