Introduction
Most of us, at some point in our lives, have experienced that sense of isolation that results from not feeling connected to our family, friends and community. Imagine how much greater that sense of isolation can be for individuals with a mental health concern in our community.
The Citizen Advocacy Program
Has been providing a community-based service since 1988. It is designed to help individuals cope with their mental health problems and concerns, and to live happier lifestyles. The program is considered by the Canadian Mental Health Association to be a model program and is the first of its kind in our province.
Drop-In Centre
Gives the protégés and other mental health consumers the opportunity to socialize and interact through participation in different social and recreational activities.
Resource / Information Centre
Also located at the Drop-In Centre, it provides written, audio, and video materials and references on mental health issues and problems.
CAP also organizes many social and recreational activities and outings, which the group enjoys!
