Disabled Individuals Alliance

Dial is a consumer organization of people with disabilities who have joined together to support each other and work together to create a positive image of people with disabilities. DIAL members sit on a variety of committees dealing with issues such as housing, accessibility and transportation to advocate for people with disabilities

    Who are our members?
  • People with any kind of disability or a combination or disabilities
  • Family members of people with disabilities
  • People who want to participate in social activities
  • People with disabilities who support each other in their daily activities

    What services do we provide for our members?

  • Organize monthly meetings at which members can voice their ideas or concerns
  • Organize social events where members can socialize and network with their peers
  • Bring in guest speakers to discuss topics of interest to our members
  • Provide training for people to learn basic computer skills
  • We serve people within the HRM

    What programs or services do we provide to the community?

  • Work with other non-profit organizations to improve the quality of life for people with a disability
  • Hand out information on disability issues at mall information booths
  • Provided donations to individuals, food banks, and churches in the HRM
  • Organize social events for people with disabilities and their family
  • DIAL must remain independent but can volunteer with other groups when needed
  • Computer classes can be given on a one to one basis. Even in their homes
