Who We Are

Families for Inclusive Education (F.I.E.) is a group of parents of children who believe in the benefits of inclusive education for all students.

What We Do

  1. Raise awareness of the value of good education that includes all children, not just those with a disability.
  2. Promote/influence social policy change and the thinking about inclusive education.
  3. Actively engage in the promotion of good educational practice for all children in regular classrooms.

How We Do This
  • Provide opportunities for families to meet, connect and share their educational experiences with each other.
  • Share information and resources about education issues with families.
  • Assist families to broaden their knowledge base about how to develop and maintain effective partnerships with their children's schools.
  • Stay abreast of political issues and keep families informed by regular contact.
  • Regularly seek opportunities to publicize education issues and the impact they have on families.
  • Seek opportunities to meet with public officials to provide information on education issues and their impact on families.
  • Seek to work in partnership with school boards and government to ensure issues are addressed.

Our Message

All children learn best in inclusive classrooms. Inclusive education is good education for all students.

Our Goal Is...
