A man needing to get to hospital in Halifax wants to know what transportation is available. A woman, fearing her son is contemplating suicide, calls for information on what she can do to help him work out his problems. A man wants to know about services to help improve reading skills.
Help Line volunteers come from every age group, background, and walk of life. They do not pretend to be experts.-They are ordinary people who are able to listen carefully and compassionately, with anonymity and confidentiality. Volunteers offer guidance and help you, as the caller, to explore options in non-judgmental way. Talking with people about your problem can be the first step to resolving it.
