KCSS Chapter Purpose

As a Chapter we have adopted the following as our Mission Statement:

The King's County Chapter of the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia is a mental health organization focused on a family sensitive (community based) model of care. We are dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for all those who are affected by schizophrenia, psychosis and co-occurring disorders. Valuing a community based model of care we will provide education peer support and advocacy by working in partnership with consumers, families and service providers.

We echo in part the Mission Statement of the national and provincial organizations:

Established in 1982, the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia is a federally-registered charity whose mission is to improve the quality of life for those affected by schizophrenia and psychosis through education, support programs, public policy, and research.
