ALL ABOUT KICKOFF
We Are: a non-profit initiative to help under-resourced, at-risk youth participate in sport and recreation opportunities.
We work: in partnership with the elementary and middle schools in Kings and West Hants Counties. The under-resourced, at-risk youth are identified by you, our, school-based community group. Each school will receive a budget from KICKOFF for placing youth in activities. The SBCG will decide which funding source will be used.
We work: with KIDSPORT as an administrative force. KICKOFF is the KIDSPORT chapter for Kings and West Hants Counties. KICKOFF also works as a liaison for another funding source, JUMPSTART. The SBCG can apply for any 3 of the funding sources, through one application. KICKOFF processes the application.
So, KICKOFF has its own budget to give to each school
KICKOFF is the administrative force for KIDSPORT (meaning, that funding has deadlines, and is first come, first serve). If the funding is for KIDSPORT or JUMPSTART the application will be processed and passed on to the right source, who will then approve or deny it. The applicant (parents) will be notified within 4 weeks of the deadline.
