KSO Meeting Minutes

Minutes from February 3, 2004

Present: Al, Heather, Doug, Jeff, Bernie, Kathy, Jill, Melissa

  • Web site: www.nsnet.org/kso
  • Swimming: as young as 8 yrs old are involved. They have plenty of coaches and volunteers - it is well organized.
  • Peter Sheenan --> referred to Louis. It is now a provincial decision. If told to drop it, we do so.
  • Staples went well - send them a thank you note.
  • Terry wants lists of all events and times.
  • Ann Marie wants a list of committee members.
  • We are receiving $1000.00 from Special Olympics Nova Scotia.
  • Money received at meeting: $105 registration; $38.05 Curling dues.

NEW BUSINESS

  • Ringette tournament in Truro from March 19-21 - $100/person
    • sending 2 teams
    • each athlete pays $35
    • teams reponsible to fundraise

  • Bowling tournament in Sackville - May 1 - Tina decides.

  • Provincial Games in 2005:

    Winter: Floor Hockey, Curling, Figure Skating, Speed Skating, Snow shoeing, Cross country skiing.

    Summer: Aquatics, Athletics, 5 pin Bowling, Softball, Soccer, Powerlifting.

  • National Summer Games are going to be in Brampton, MB

  • Catherine needs budget because she's meeting with Mark Parent for funding.

  • Each Head Coach will put together a mini budget.
    • this will now be done on a regular basis.

  • Heather put forward (was approved) that 2 new soccer balls be bought.

Doug & Al each given 2 boxes of donation cans to distribute.
