Whom Do We Serve?

Families of children birth to five years of age who are developmentally disabled or considered at risk for a developmental delay.

What Can We Do?
  • Provide regular home visits, support to families, information on child development, handicapping conditions and parenting issues.

  • Link families with other appropriate services and community agencies.

  • Design and implement programs to enhance each child's development in conjunction with the parents and other agencies involved.

Where?

Home visits are made anywhere in Lunenburg County.

Why?

Early Intervention Programs have proven to be effective in helping to decrease and often prevent problems associated with disabilities and delays in young children.

Referral Process?

Referrals to First Steps may come from parents, doctors, community agencies or concerned individuals as long as permission from the parents has been obtained.
