The Community employment program at New Boundaries assists individuals with mental and or physical challenges find meaningful employment in the community. The program provides job search, job placement, job site training and on-going support services for the employee and employer. The abilities and preferences of an individual are matched to the needs of the employer in an effort to ensure a successfull partnership Everyone benefits from community employment: the employer, the community and the individual.

What are the benefits of Community Employment?

The employer benefits as a work force is developed with work skills specialized to each job. The training is provided by a job coach from New Boundaries at no cost to the employer. These employees have a strong desire to work and a positive attitude which may serve as an inspiration to your existing work force.

The community benefits because the individuals are given the opportunity to develop useful job skills in "real" work setting. Community employment increases an individual's independence and allows them to become contributing members to the local economic community. There is a focus on a persons abilities and this fosters positive attitudes and creates greater understanding.

Last but not least the individual benefits because he or she is given the opportunity to participate in meaningful employment while being integrated into community life. This builds character and self esteem.
