We opened in September 1975 on the second floor of the Provincial Building and moved our expanded facility to our present location in June of 1992. The Centre is open daily Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.

The Regional Occupational Centre provides service to 26 mentally challenged adults, with a staff of 6 and a volunteer Board of Directors with 9 members.

Our programs include:

• Life Skills

• Bakery
  • Bread and Rolls (white, whole wheat, raisin, and porridge)

• Woodworking
  • Picnic tables (regular and with roof), bird houses and feeders, planters, survey stakes, and many custom orders.

• Buttons
  • Promotional, family reunions, political campaigns, etc.

• Collating
  • Labelling, sorting assembling and stuffing envelopes for local businesses.

• Yard Maintenance
  • Mowing, raking, planting flowers, etc.

• Janitorial Service
  • Cleaning after Bingo at the Lions Den

• Recycling of bottles and wire
  • Wire stripping, which is then sold to the scrap dealer.

• Crafts
  • Mats, coasters, slippers, and assorted others.

• Recreational Program
  • Several clients participate in swimming (one hour a week at SAERC Pool), bowling, track and field events on a regional and provincial basis.
