	Dear Friends of Special Olympics Dartmouth; Well here we are with fall soon approaching and summer coming to an end. We hope that each and every one of you was able to find the time to relax and enjoy the summer with friends and family. We would like to take this opportunity to share some of our experiences with you. Since becoming our own region on Mar 01st of this year, we have been very busy as an organization. Our first priority as a new region was to establish a strong executive board in order for our athletes to be best represented. This was accomplished quickly with the enthusiastic support of our Parents, Coaches and caring Volunteers who immediately began to implement our full slate of Summer programs. The athletes very quickly became consumed with the training that was required for both the Regional Games that were held in June and the Summer Olympics that were held in Halifax in July. More often then not it was their undying enthusiasm that kept us going. The games were a huge success from beginning to end. Each and every athlete put their heart and soul into the weekend long event. Goals that had been developed months in advance were accomplished or exceeded. Not all goals were aimed at athletics. Some of the biggest goals accomplished that weekend were: having a young athletes adapt and overcome the fear of being away from home. watching an athlete give everything the had in a race and at the finish line throw their arms in the air and scream "I DID IT" as if they had broken a world record. None of these memories would have been possible without the donations that we received from caring people such as you. Thank you for your contributions, they really did change lives and make memories. Together, we can keep it going!
