    1) What are the rights for homosexual youth in Canada?
          All people are equal and are treated as such under the law.

    2) What is safer - one joint or one pint of alcohol?
          While the issue continues to be debated, engaging in the use of either       carries risks. Heavy use of alcohol have proven to cause negative side       effects, especially over extended periods of time. Alcohol is normally       distributed through a regulated federal body. The same cannot be said for       street drugs.

    3) What is the legal age for an individual to have sex?
          The legal age for an individual to have sex is fourteen.

    4) Are there many calories in alcohol?
          It depends on the drink but generally beer is the highest in calories (hence       the beer-gut). The majority of calories in alcoholic beverages comes from       alcohol which contributes 7 calories per gram as opposed to carbohydrates       (4 calories per gram) and fat which is 9 calories per gram.

    5) Is there a type of steroid that does not harm the body?

    6) Does it hurt to have sex?
          It depends on the person's physical and emotional state.

    7) Would anyone tell our parents about being at the shelter?
          No. Everything is strictly confidential.

    8) Are both boys and girls allowed to go to the shelter?
          Yes.

    9) Is there a fee to enter the shelter?
            No.

    10) How can I get to the shelter if I do not live in the area?
            If you need a ride, contact your local police officer or the answering service         and a ride will be arranged.

    11) Are the Emergency Teen Shelters and "Let's Talk About It"       groups totally confidential?
            Yes.

    12) Are counsellors available at the shelter?
           No. Just two available staff provide support and information of other        services.

    13) What kind of help is offered at the shelter?
            We provide an advocacy service (help for the teens) in the area of         importance to the team.

    14) Why is there a police escort?
            This is for the safety of the staff and the teens inside the shelter.
